2016 Proposal & Funding Process
2016 Status : Funding appropriations for 79 projects were adopted by the Minnesota Legislature and signed into law by the Governor.
M.L. 2016 Project Appropriations
The LCCMR selected 89 projects to recommend to the 2016 Minnesota Legislature to collectively receive $46.3 million in funding from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. The recommendations came from the LCCMR's 2016 Request for Proposal (RFP) process, in which 186 proposals requesting a total of approximately $131 million were received, and considered through a competitive, multi-stage evaluation. The Legislature adopted 79 of the recommendations, including 73 without any changes and 6 at a decreased or increased dollar amount; deleted 10 of the recommendations; and added 7 new appropriations for a total of 86 appropriations. On 05/31/16, 79 of the appropriations, totaling $37,909,000, were signed into law by the Governor as M.L. 2016, Chapter 186 and 7 appropriations, totaling $8,428,000, were line-item vetoed.

2016 Project Recommendations
At its meeting on October 20, 2015, the LCCMR selected 89 proposals for its preliminary 2016 funding recommendations totaling $45.4 million from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF). The recommendations are the result of the LCCMR's 2016 Request for Proposal (RFP) process, in which 186 proposals requesting a total of approximately $131 million were received and considered through a competitive, multi-stage evaluation process. The recommendations range from full funding for the full proposal and dollar amount requested to partial funding for specific proposal elements and partial dollar amounts requested. The LCCMR will meet in December to finalize its funding recommendations package before the recommendations are submitted to the 2016 Minnesota Legislature for review and approval.

2016 Proposals Received and Selected to Present
186 proposals requesting a total of approximately $130.9 million were received in response to the RFP by the deadline of May 11, 2015. Approximately $46.3 million from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund is expected to be available for funding recommendations to the 2016 Legislature for projects to begin July 1, 2016. On September 16 the LCCMR selected 97 proposals requesting a total of approximately $70.4 million to invite in for a presentation before the LCCMR for further consideration. Proposal presentations are scheduled for September 29 and 30 and October 1, 6, 7, and 8.
